Who is responsible for your information?
Edmund Platt is the data controller for personal information handled in connection with this website and the independent property representation and reporting services described on it.

Information I may collect
This may include names, business and contact details, correspondence, appointment information, property addresses, access arrangements and information supplied in connection with an enquiry or agreed assignment. When completing property work, it may also include inspection notes, meter readings, key records, photographs and other information reasonably required for the report or visit.
How and why it is used
Personal information is used where necessary to:
- respond to enquiries and discuss proposed work;
- arrange, undertake and report on agreed property services;
- communicate with clients, agents, landlords, tenants, contractors and other relevant parties;
- maintain appropriate business, accounting and insurance records; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims and meet legal obligations.
The lawful bases relied upon are taking steps before entering into a contract, performing a contract, compliance with legal obligations and legitimate interests in operating, documenting and protecting the business and the services provided.
Where information comes from
Information is usually provided directly by the person concerned or by the client, letting agent, property manager or landlord commissioning the work. It may also be obtained through observations made during an authorised property visit or from relevant publicly available sources.
Sharing and security
Information may be shared with the instructing client and with relevant landlords, agents, property managers, tenants, contractors, professional advisers, insurers or authorities where this is necessary and lawful. Trusted service providers may process information for email, document storage, website hosting and business administration. Personal information is not sold.
Reasonable organisational and technical measures are used to protect information and access is limited to those who need it for the relevant purpose.
How long information is kept
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including contractual, accounting, insurance and legal requirements and the handling of possible disputes. Retention is reviewed according to the nature of the information and the assignment concerned.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction or transfer, or to object to its use. To exercise a right or raise a privacy concern, email edmund@edmundplatt.co.uk.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to the use of your information for direct marketing.

This website
The website does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, user accounts or an online contact form. Basic technical information may be processed by the hosting service where necessary to deliver and secure the website.
